Memorial day wknd - 2008

This memorial day weekend took u to the Adirondack State Park in upstate New York.
It was a big black hole as I had never checked out whats there and the possibilities of hiking\camping. Turned out its a great place to visit.
Some pic from the weekend.

Inside the small sea plane which provided a birds eye view of the Fulton Chain of Lakes (an array of 8 lakes) and a lot of adventure.

The deep blue water of one of the lakes and the undulating mountain range.

A long exposure hot of the sunset colors over Raquett lake from our own beach.
Long exposure eliminated the ripples in the lake and gives it a wispy texture.
Also, the colors saturate and wash over the frame.

Our ride. Some of these were built in 1956!!
We read that and still climbed into them .. and the simple mechanism, controlls an turbulence kept us on the edge of our seats :)

Yes, we had good breakfast, so good in fact that we skipped Lunch on Sunday!

Our abode for 2 nights.
Kitchen not included.

Another sunset shot from our beach.
The Sun went down right opposite our site.
Site #194 if anyone wants to go back.

Yet another view of our beach. Prev occupants have even set a throne to site and enjoy the beautiful sunset while the lake laps around your feet.
